Yeah, it would be nice if there was a "--privileged" flag.

 

I attach a small wrapper script which you can run as either root or the
sympa user (using "sudo -u sympa <script>"). You will want to adjust the
following:

my $LIST_DATA="/var/lib/sympa/list_data";
my $domain="lists.cam.ac.uk";
