We've noticed a pattern that causes the truncation of a message payload for outbound Sympa messages to the subscribers.
I'm wondering if others are seeing this issue. I think we've isolated the pattern to:
IF a period '.' falls on the EOL (76 char) Sympa will add the line break '=' (see Archive, view source), and moves the period to the next line.
AND IF the author intended to end a paragraph with a return
THEN all data after that pattern is truncated from the message body.
Looking at the hidden characters in notepad++ I see the carriage return and line feed chars:
Data after the second blank line (CR LF), including the dashes will be truncated when Sympa sends
the 'outbound' message to the subscribers, however, the archive retains the original 'inbound' message content.
To reproduce this condition, simply add this pattern to your message.
What are other Sympa users seeing?
Thanks,
Terry
