Hello Stephen,
you can find most of the messages generated by Sympa in the translation
catalog:
https://github.com/sympa-community/sympa/blob/sympa-6.2/po/sympa/sympa.pot
It includes the location in the Sympa source code, so you can extract the
messages from the tt2 files with typical
gettext tools or CPAN Perl modules.
