Hello, everybody,
we currently use Sympa version 6.2.16 (installed as Debian package).
In this Sympa version, if a user has no write permission for the list and the e-mail is rejected with "reject(reason='send_editor')", a "Delivery Status Notification (DNS)" with a RFC compliant status code is sent. (This is in contrast to earlier versions, when an e-mail was still sent with the template authorization_reject.ttl.)
I have now found that this Delivery Status Notification is not always sent to the sender of the e-mail. The fact whether such a Delivery Status Notification is sent or not does not necessarily depend on the value of the Send parameter. In a test list, the Delivery Status Notification is sent on one day and is not sent on another day, although the configuration of the list has not been changed in the meantime. The test mails were also sent by the same sender, so that it does not depend on the sender's address whether a Delivery Status Notification is sent or not.
Does anyone have an idea what this problem could be and has this problem occurred on other Sympa servers?
Best regards, Sabine Lorenz
