yesssss! thank you I was going to write this; trying to solve it, I've checked postfix instead of sympa and, setting this parameter, has solved the issue, thank you!

btw, for curiosity, I tried something like this in a scenario of a mailing list:

match([msg_header]->message_id, '') smtp,smime,md5 -> do_it

but it hasn't worked; is it totally useless, meaningless?

thank you
cheers
Stefano

Hi Stefano,

What is the MTA software that relays incoming messages to Sympa?

If you are using Postfix, you may set always_add_missing_headers parameter (and maybe related parameters like local_header_rewrite_clients). Please see postconf(5) <http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html> for details.

Dear All,

we have happily (:-)) upgraded to sympa 6.2.48 but we are facing this problem:

some, many, messages from alarm, monitoring systems arrive to mailing lists without Message-ID field in the header and are moved to /var/spool/sympa/msg/bad. Moving these mails to /var/spool/sympa/msg doesn't solve the problem.

At the moment, we've not been able to bypass this problem; is there a way (scenario, list configuration, etc.) to change sympa behaviour?

thank you
cheers
Stefano
