Hi Miles,
The pros: the integration with a lot of functionnalities Sympa has not. Wiki, Calendar, Chat. And the user interface is certainly wery nice and user friendly. It's the modern, web-oriented collaboration-tool and if you have a single group with very limited organisational needs, the free plan is certainly perfect. Also, you can create sub groups in your groups, probably easily. In Sympa, creating a sub list is done by including a list into another, then writing a query in the new list to restrict its member.
The cons: The free plan misses all the features usually found in maillig list fotwares, such as subscription moderations, tracking, reposting, etc. Also, one of the features is disturbing : modifying a previously posted message. That probably means that it is actually a web only tool, or any mesage modification would lad to a repost of modified message, which would probably make threads very weird.
I think that, as long as you don't have very demanding needs, it can be a nice tool. But as soon as you need to tweak the tool's behaviour, it becomes very costly.
Regards,
David

Some folks I support are looking at groups.io - looks kind of nice, but all the proprietary stuff scares me. I'm looking for reasons to shoot it down. Any thoughts?--
