The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

Go to the Sympa Admin tab, users sub-tab - you can search on an email address.

One thing to note:  the search is exact.  Unlike the user search function for an individual list, where you can enter a partial email address, the site-wide search seems to be finicky - full address, proper case.

I have a request from a listowner who has about 60 mailing lists and would like to know in which of his lists a particular email address is listed.

He says that list subscribers change regularly and it's a lot of effort to have to search all lists individually to find out which lists have an email address on them.

 

As a list master I can search for an e-mail address, but for list owners I don't know any comparable way to search through their own lists.

Is there such a possibility or is something planned for the future?

 

I've told the list owner that the user can see for themselves in which lists their e-mail address is entered, but they don't want their list participants (often professors) to have to go through the registration process individually to unsubscribe from lists or change their e-mail address. Instead, list owners want to relieve users of this task.

 

Of course I can write a script to export the email-adresses of all subscribers of a certain list owner but this is only a manual solution and the list owner always have to ask us to run that script. Alternatively the list owner must maintain the list of list subscribers twice in order to serach after an email-adress.

Does anyone have an idea if we can help this list owner?
