Last itme I checked (which was not recently) the workaround
implemented by Sympa was not adding the footer to signed messages (but
to unsigned ones sent to the same list).

FWIW, Mailman v2 instead just adds the footer in a separate, correct,
MIME structure *without* breaking the existing signature. (So it can
be done, and looking at how Mailman does this should be illustrative.)
