The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

Sympa seems to be up and running. It shows me a webpage, and I can follow 
links; I can email it and get instructions.

Now I'd like to create a mailing list. I read the documentation, but got 
lost. 
I am apparently supposed to create a scenario of listmaster and add myself to 
it, but I'm not sure what that means, and have no clue how to do it.

Also, the webpage lists gobs of categories of lists that might exist, but 
won't. The only lists I plan to put on this box are relating to the use and 
development of a free software program. How do I get rid of the categories?
