Hi all,
we have a sympa installation (sympa 6.1.23 as debian package) with two virtual robots and we observed the following behaviour of Sympa:
If Sympa receives an encrypted message and isn’t able to decrypt the message this message is moved to /var/spool/sympa/msg/bad/. During this process no information mail is sent to the sender of the email and this email seems to be deleted after one week.
The belonging snippet of the Sympa-Log is the following:
May 22 16:29:00 lists1 sympa(command)[2123]: err tools::smime_decrypt() Unable to decrypt message : missing certificate file May 22 16:29:00 lists1 sympa(command)[2123]: err main::DoFile() Unable to create Message object /address@concealed May 22 16:29:00 lists1 sympa(command)[2123]: notice Moving bad file address@concealed to bad/
In our opinion it is not correct that the email is accepted by all of the involved smtp server (including sympa) and then the email disappeares and is deleted after one week without any information to the sender of the email.
Is there at least a possibility to send a message to the sender if an encrypted email can’t be handled by Sympa? How do you deal with this behaviour?
Thank you very much for any hints. Best regards, Sabine Lorenz ---------- KIT - Universität des Landes Baden-Württemberg und Das KIT ist seit 2010 als familiengerechte Hochschule zertifiziert.
