The message about previous crash from Sympa is what I have seen, when Sympa
not shutdown cleanly. It does not mean Sympa caused the crash (i.e. your
reboot). So I would say just a symptom of the reboot. I have had Sympa issues
at times (e.g. badly encoded MIME) but have never had Sympa crash the box it
was running on and would think that unlikely but not impossible.

Subject: [sympa-users] Sympa possibly causing server to reboot

Hi,

Last night my mailing lists server rebooted. After looking at system and
service processor(Sunfire x4150 running Solaris10x86) logs it does not look
like it was caused by a hardware fault. I did however receive emails from
Sympa with subject "Previous process crashed" and the Sympa logs seem to
suggest something was not right.

I can't recall in the past, dying Sympa processes causing the system to
reboot. Has anyone experienced this before?
