- Subject: [sympa-users] confirm-them-moderate option?
- Date: Fri, 27 Jun 2014 16:04:11 -0400
Hi Folks,
A couple of the lists we run are starting to see a lot of spam. These are private lists, set to moderate-non-members -- so the effect is moderators get a lot of spam to deal with.
One option is to simply make the lists completely private - but some of these are for boards and committees - so having a moderated inbox is important.
As I was pouring through the myriad of settings for send/receive privileges, I came across confirm-for-non-members -- which might help, depending on how intelligent the spambots are. But it got me to thinking that confirm-then-moderate might be a more effective model. But.. that's not a current option.
Any thoughts on whether this might work well, and if so, what a scenario might look like to implement it?
Thanks very much,
Miles Fidelman
