The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

I am not sure whether this is a bug or a feature of a later version of Sympa 
(currently running 6.2, upgraded from 5.4.X).

According to this page http://www.sympa.org/manual/customizing sympa looks for 
tt2 files in this order

 /home/sympa/list_data/<list>/mail_tt2/<lang>/<action>.tt2.
 /home/sympa/list_data/<list>/mail_tt2/<action>.tt2.
 /home/sympa/etc/my.domain.org/mail_tt2/<lang>/<action>.tt2.
 /home/sympa/etc/my.domain.org/mail_tt2/<action>.tt2.
 /home/sympa/etc/mail_tt2/<lang>/<action>.tt2.
 /home/sympa/etc/mail_tt2/<action>.tt2.
 /home/sympa/bin/etc/mail_tt2/<lang>/<action>.tt2.
 /home/sympa/bin/etc/mail_tt2/<action>.tt2.

and I had files (from an older version pre 6) still in 
/home/sympa/bin/etc/mail_tt2/.

But looking at the log file

Feb  9 18:36:37 moya soap[22971]: err List::send_file() Could not find 
template request_auth.tt2 in 
/home/sympa/expl/themark/mail_tt2/en_US:/home/sympa/expl/themark/mail_tt2:/home/sympa/etc/mail_tt2/en_US:/home/sympa/etc/mail_tt2:/home/sympa/default/mail_tt2/en_US:/home/sympa/default/mail_tt2:/home/sympa/expl/themark:/home/sympa/expl/themark/archives 

it does not look there???
It simply did not send the message.

I know there is a /sympa_path/default/mail_tt2 directory and I read somewhere 
that sympa would look in there but I made that unreadable as I could not 
figure out why changes made to the tt2 file (/home/sympa/bin/etc/mail_tt2/) 
did not show up in the mail messages send.

There are conflicting messages where "things" are located it seems.
Ideas anyone??
