I'm not aware of how listserv behaves, but Sympa is very tuneable 
regarding access control. You can (of course) configure access rights 
for REVIEW and archive browsing in a different way. This can be 
configured by listowner through the web interface (Admin > Edit list 
config >¨Privileges > Who can review subscribers) and (Admin > Edit list 
config > Archives ).

You can even customize the access control to each and every feature 
through the so-called authorization scernarios
