Hi Matthias,
There is no mean to define a custom variable at the full server range. However that would probably be an interesting feature.
We have such a parameter at the list level (custom_param). It is possible because the list config supports complex structures for list parameters. This is not the case for server parameters, which are always a simple string. Implementing this would then not be trivial, even if it woul not be impossible. ;-)

in the create_list.intranet scenario. Is it possible to define a global
constant somewhere (sympa.conf?) that can later be used in all other

both places?
