This will work for me very well. thanks for your help.
though, for some reason i cant block the "Archive Management" page. i dont want the owner to be able to delete the archives... maybe they can download them, but not delete them.

ps. on another note, i want to disable list creation for everyone except the listmaster. And, i want disable account creation (i only want to allow LDAP as a means of authentication).

Do you know the edit_list.conf configuration file ?

If this is not powerfull enough , you may add a feature request in
sympa.org. The way we would provide to allow the definition of new owner
profil  and to be able to test it in editlist.conf and in scenario.
