Hi Hector,

Until Sympa 5.1.x SetUID of wwympa.fcgi was performed with a SetUID bit set on wwsympa.fcgi but this requires that you install the suidperl interpreter that is not installed by default on most systems. For example on Fedora systems you need to install the perl-suiderl package. You probably need to install a similar package on OpenSUSE.

Note that with later version of Sympa we recommend better ways of doing SetUID, see http://www.sympa.org/manual/web-interface#wwsympa.fcgi_access_permissions

Hello,
I have installed Sympa 4.1.2 in one machine working fine and I must replicate
this machine with the same software. I have installed in the second machine
the
same version of Sympa and when I try to open the apache server with the
wwsympa.fcgi I get the following error:

[Wed Jul 30 09:55:31 2008] [warn] FastCGI: server
"/home/sympa/bin/wwsympa.fcgi" restarted (pid 4315)
Can't do setegid!

I tried to run the program as the user and I get the following:

www-data@estafeta1:~> ll /home/sympa/bin/wwsympa.fcgi
-rwsr-sr-x 1 sympa sympa 295727 jul 29 10:05 /home/sympa/bin/wwsympa.fcgi
www-data@estafeta1:~> /home/sympa/bin/wwsympa.fcgi
Can't do setegid!

But if I run the program with the root user it works. The server is an
openSUSE. Anyone knows how can I solve this permissions problem?
