I have sympa 5.2.4 on FreeBSD
actually in a production environment it is not easy... to switch to new version of Sympa,
and most of all I have to wait that sympa 5.3 will become avaliable on ports collection
under FreeBSD.
From Sympa 5.1 to sympa 5.2 I run into a lot of problems most of all because of
dependencies problems.
At cru on which OS platfrom you run sympa ?
I found quite difficult to run sympa on Red Hat systems and in general on Linux due to the fact that sympa has a lot of dependencies and most of all does not exist a recent decent version of sympa
as rpm package or dpkg package.
Building sympa from source means difficulty if you are going to upgrade it after a few months
to new version.
FreeBSD is quite flexible in managing packages.
Actually what do you suggest me ?
thanks
Rick

I often have this messages and it happens only for this mailing list
when the owner tries to manage with wwsympa
is it normale ?
We've completely rewritten the Lock functions in Sympa 5.3 and you should no more get such locking problems.
The new Lock.pm module also provides locking over NFS features.
