For those who are using the Shibboleth identity federation software (http://shibboleth.internet2.edu) :

Dominique Launay has extended the Sympa authentication module for Apache so it can work with a Shibboleth identity provider. This association allows to 1/ authenticate users through their home institution authentication service and 2/ authorize based on their Sympa list membership.

The module requires :
  • Apache  2
  • A Shibboleth Service Provider (Apache module). Note that Identity providers should be configured to provide user email addresses.
  • A Sympa server with SOAP features enabled.
