You're right, we've just fixed this in the development branch of Sympa.
You can probably apply the following patch on your Sympa version : http://sourcesup.cru.fr/cgi/viewvc.cgi/trunk/wwsympa/wwsympa.fcgi?r1=4386&r2=4392&root=sympa&view=patch

If you wish to restrict access to the homepage of the list, you should set the 'info' parameters that defines what authorization scenario is used while accessing http://listserver.your.domain/sympa/info/youlist. This parameter can be edited through the web list admin : "edit list config" > "rivileges" > "who can view list information".
