Hi Sergiy,

As usual, it always take more time that scheduled to release a new version of Sympa ;-)
We are now finalizing the last charset & encoding issues with the help of Soji Ikeda. We've first moved to UTF-8 for the web front-end only. Finally we've decided to solely use UTF-8 charset for all Sympa data. The UTF-8 conversion script has been successfully tested. We now need to cope with mixed charset problems.

Concerning the upgrade : you will be able to move from 4.x to 5.3, without any intermediate step. All the upgrade logic is handled by "sympa.pl --upgrade" that does all the required work (except for non-Mysql backends ; the DB structure will not be updated automatically).

When do you expect to release 5.3 ?
Is it gonna be easy to upgrade from 4.x to 5.3 or one would need to upgrade to 5.2 first ?
