You're right, Sympa does not provide a way to notify the author of the message though it might be useful.

It seems by default, the poster is not notified that the message was eventually delivered to the list, is he?
Is there a way to configure the list so that a notification is then sent to the original poster? I couldn't find one while looking at the configuration options.
