Your error message sounds like your list "user_data_source" parameter is not set to the correct value.
This parameter tells Sympa how the list members data are managed :
  1. file : stored in an old plain text file
  2. include : members included from external sources ; data cache stored in a DB file
  3. database : members data stored in ths SQL database
  4. include2 : allows (2) and (3) ; data cache stored in the SQL database
We are about to keep only (4) in Sympa ; you should use this option.

I think I'm using version 4.1.1 (that's what it says in /home/sympa/bin/Version.pm) - I'm not the server admin, so I don't know when all this stuff was installed and I'm pretty new to Sympa.

I checked the log file (/var/log/sympa) and saw an enormous amount of this:

Sep 12 10:50:55 office sympa[358]: (no cache) Could not tie to DB_File /home/sympa/expl/milife_test2/subscribers.db
Sep 12 10:50:55 office sympa[358]: Could not load subscribers for list milife_test2

When a message goes through I get this:
Sep 12 10:50:55 office sympa[358]: No subscriber for sending msg in list milife_test2

So I'm confused since it says "Could not load subscribers" but I can see them on the list in the web interface. Maybe something under the hood is broken?
