I guess that most institutions that use list families manage to automate 
the creation of the XML file, based on their LDAP directory or SQL DB.

Unfortunately not, because the headers and footers are not templates but 
static files. We plan to turn them into templates, thus allowing 
per/list customization and definition at family level.
