What are sympa topics used for please?
Message topics are especially useful for generalist mailing lists that have big traffic. Let's say it is a CERT-type mailing list. List topics make it possible for list members to receive only messages that deal with certain topics (web servers because you are listmaster + openssl). It is the responsibility of the list owner to define the available topics. Then each message is tagged (automatically, by author or by moderator). List members can select their topics of interest via the "subscriber options".
