Thanks Robert I will reinstall the perl package. Although, we were using
perl 5.8.x since approximately last one year.

I had a similar problem (with syslog) when i tried running sympa under
perl 5.8.x, after retreating back to 5.6.x it worked again. Ok, not
much help but that's all I got. :P
