The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

(This is not a question only an information. May be you know this. If you do, i’m sorry. I searched the archive but couldn’t find anything about vpopmail or valias.)

 

When we use qmail as smtp with sympa we have to create

.qmail-listname

.qmail-listname-owner

..

 

files under ~qmail/alias directory.

For example if i have 10.000 lists then the number of alias files is 50.000.

 

I tried to find a solution for this state. After some searchs i found out vpopmail. I configured it with –enable-valias and create the alias in mysql db like this:

 

Mysql > Select * from valias;

 

listname3 | testdomain.com | |/home/sympa/bin/queue listname3 @testdomain.com

 

now i don’t need any qmail alias file.

I tested it. It ıs working.

 

I think this can be useful for sympa+qmail users
