hello Olivier,

i tried it, but o.value.gecos shows nothing... maybe it's because i've been
fiddling with the database and all that...

perhaps you misunderstood me. my authentication function works as follows:
1. connect to MY database for password confirmation of email address x
2. check if x is in sympa's user_table. if not- insert it
could it be related to the strange things that happen sometimes? (like after i
log off, i'm still able to press "sympa manager" and do admin stuff, only i
get
an error saying that sympa couldn't plant a cookie)
also, the single sign on system i work with allows a user to change their
address. is there a way that sympa can keep track of a user's email address
(like, for instance, storing the user's uid and fetching their address from
another database)?
thanks,
Yonni
