Hello,
I've been trying to send out messages with inline images embedded in them
just to see Sympa strip them out. How can I get around this? Any help or at
being directed to a place where I can find the answer would be appriciated.
Thanks.

Nothing to do. It works. They are several way to attach image in a message. The most popular is attachement (multipart/mixed). Another way to do it is "multipart/related" (look at rfc 2387). This method allow to send a HTML text including images (or other links) related to the other part of the message. Most MUA show multipart/related message correctly but I don't know any editor to make them.
