Hello,

Thanks for the earlier assistance, Sympa is now up and running. There are
still some issues, however...

The problem I'm having right now is that Sympa can't send e-mail. I first
ran into this when requesting a password from the front end, but the symptoms
are the same when it tries to send e-mail for any reason, to any address.
The machine itself can send and receive e-mail just fine if Sympa is bypassed.

Here's what I'm seeing in the logs. Actual FQHN is replaced with <hostname>. Permissions on the directories are wide open, so I'm at a loss as to what's causing the permission denial.

Aug 5 16:18:53 <hostname> sympa[20632]: Moving bad file
root@<hostname>.1091737129.7251 to bad/

I've browsed the documentation on sympa.org, but didn't see a solution to
this particular problem.

Thanks.

Hello,

I had the same problem and the reason was that I was trying to send the e-mail with telnet localhost 25 (my SMTP server), and Sympa could not understand the message format (probably the headers). If you are doing this, you should use "mail address@concealed", so your problems will disappear!

Regards,
