I doubt this is a bug, but one never knows.

I solved my logging problem by dropping the logging level in 
sympa.conf to 0. Anything 2 or higher gives me the error I talked 
about before from wwsympa:

Modification of a read-only value attempted at 
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/Sys/Syslog.pm line 287.

So, my question is, what other files are being written to when you 
increase the logging level? Why would an error like this arise when 
you increase the logging level, but not be present at level 0?
