Hi Alexander,

You're not the first (probably not the last) requesting this feature and we wish to introduce it in Sympa.
We haven't done it yet because :
  1. it is not requested by so many users (especially not by French Universities we are working for)
  2. it could be a long job and can bring unstability in the software

But here is a quick list of what would need to be changed :
  1. The full list address (including the Virtual robot) should be stored in the subscriber_table
  2. All references to a list in the code should refer to the robot as well. All List::new() calls should have the robot parameter set
  3. Files in spools should all have a name including the robot
  4. The bounce subdirectories should include the robot
  5. ......maybe it's not such a big job...

is anybody working on a fully vhost-aware version of sympa?

e.g. to allow several virtual robots to have similar list names like address@concealed and address@concealed ...

i know the faq says that one should simply install several sympa versions, but i'm not really happy about that ..

this results in quite a bit of maintenance work within  an isp environment (lots of domains/robots/installations/dbs,
all the customizations, updates, etc.. )

i've already begun hacking up a 4.x version (cvs checkout from mid september, w/ postgres backend and exim mta), in order to
support this feature, but there is still a long way to go ..

so if anybody is already working on it or has some pointers, that would be great.
