How far into the future is this? 1 month, 6 months?

I'm trying to decided if I should just hang in there with Mailman a little longer and then migrate to Sympa 4 (~4.2), or if I should go ahead an migrate to Sympa 3.

Thanks,

Cove

I thought this information would be of interest for people working on web templates customization :
In parallel to Sympa 4 release, we are working on a version of Sympa ( probably a 4.2) that does no more include language-specific elements in web templates. The template format would slightly change to adopt the TT2 template format (see http://www.template-toolkit.org/) and the PO file format would be used for translations. Sympa would include much less web templates and the customization job should become > easier.

Here are 2 message, sent to sympa-translation ML, describing the new design :

We'll provide a script to migrate from previous templates to TT2.
The main drawback of these changes, of course, is the big translation job when shifting to PO file format.

Are there any sites that have nice looking templates in public domain?

I plan to make those downloadable soon, but it takes some work to make
them general enough to be useful for other sites. (they will be GPL, like
sympa itself, not public domain).

I created a simple meta-template system where language is removed, ie instead of "My Subscriptions" the meta-templates hold $mysubscriptions. Then, the meta-templates are 'rendered' to create the templates in each language, for each domain. There is also a configuration file per domain which controls aspects of the rendering, like how you want the front page displayed, the message you get after creating a list, the header and
footer, etc.
