This behavior has already been changed, please refer to the NEWS file :

3.3.6b.3        10 September 2002

        Changes :
        ......
        src/List.pm: if cannot connect to DB, keep trying, do not
        die (this prevent from sending hundreds of worning messages to
        listmaster)

Upgrading to a 3.4.x release will fix this.

Since these warning subroutine are quite low level (List.pm), we need
to get the information about the current process...
