Package: sympa
Version: 3.2.1-3
Severity: important

The mhonarc resource file that comes with sympa, and that is used for
creating the HTML archives, has a couple of very major flaws as shipped:

The next/previous buttons in the generated HTML are *only* implemented
as images, using an IMG tag. This is to "/icons/left.gif" and
"/icons/right.gif"
which *do not exist* in the sympa (or wwsympa) packages at all.

Worse, there is nothing that configures /icons by default in the package for
the webserver software, nor is there any note about this.

To make matters worse ... the HTML in the configuration uses these images
*without* adding an 'ALT' attribute to supply text to users who don't have
image display capability in their browser.

This also means that a fully graphical browser (Mozilla, Galeon, Netscape)
displays *NO* forward or back navication in the archives. It wasn't until
I actually went and read the HTML source that I noted the issue -- I thought
that the archiving system was quite broken until then.

It's fairly trivial to change these values in the resource file but the
images are still missing.

Daniel
