gencat's compliance differ from one system to another.
It compiles well on Linux RedHat for example.

Try to identify the wrong characters and recompile.
I'm afraid I can't identify them since I can't see your charset
on my system. You can also contact the author of the .msg files.

Try changing Sympa's 'log_socket_type' conf parameter.
