Unfortunately, “Quiet_subscription  on” only removes notification for *subscribing* addresses. It does not affect subscriber renewal – removal still defaults to “notify” unless you check the still-visible “quiet” box.

You don't often get email from address@concealed. Learn why this is important

This might help:

quiet_subscription

Quiet subscriptions policy

·        Format:

o   on - enabled

o   optional - optional

o   off - disabled

·        Default:

optional

·        Context:

site (sympa.conf)

·        Available versions:

6.2.41b.1 and later.

Global policy for quiet subscriptions: “on” means that subscriptions will never send a notice to the subscriber, “off” will enforce a notice sending, and “optional” (default) allows the use of the list policy.

which I found on:

      External Email - Use Caution

I am aware of the sympa.conf parameter “quiet_subscription” which when its value = “on” no new subscribers will receive a welcome message.

Is there a sympa.conf parameter for quiet subscriber removal, e.g., “quiet_deletion” ?

Thanks

Betty
